Postal Match 1: (closes January 31, 2008)

Setup: This postal match is based on the AAPS Speed Target drill. Three AAPS "A" paper targets are set up in-line, 18 to 24 inches apart (measured center-to-center), with the middle target centered 13 to 15 feet in front of the competitor. The center of each target is approximately four to five off the ground. A stop plate is positioned two feet in front of the right-most target with its center approximately two to three feet off the ground.

Start: The competitor begins facing the targets. The pistol is in the loaded and ready condition and hands are at sides. On the start signal, the competitor draws and fires two shots into the “A/C” zone of each target, engaging targets in any order. The competitor then performs a non-retention reload and fires two more shots into the “A/C” zone of each target and then shoots the stop plate (13 shots altogether). The score for this drill is the time (in seconds to the nearest 0.01 second). Any shots that land outside the “A/C” zone of any target, failure to fire two shots at a target during each sequence, or firing more than two shots at a target during each sequence, results in a "no score" for the drill. There is no limit to the number of shots that can be made on the stop plate.

Special Considerations:
Since many AAPS competitors will not yet have all the equipment normally needed to complete this drill (holster, stop plate, etc.), the special considerations outlined below will apply for this postal match.

1. Any AAPS regulation airsoft GBB pistol can be used (Open or Standard). Describe your pistol on the
    submission form.
2. If a regulation holster is not available, then the competitor can start in the "low ready" position (see below).
The start position must be described on the submission form.
3. If no stop plate is available, then the competitor can be timed with a stop watch or a shot counter operated
by another person. In either case, the last shot must be on a popper or a popper template positioned as
described under setup. The timing method must be described on the submission form.
4. Scores (times) for this postal match will be kept on file and used to qualify competitors when AAPS
    membership opens.
