Postal Matches
Introduction
Postal matches are a time-honored practice where shooters compete
without having to meet face-to-face. In a postal match, shooters
complete a course of fire at their home or local ranges and then submit
their scores to a central authority. In earlier times, scores were
submitted by regular mail, which is the origin of the term "postal" in
the name. Today, scores are submitted electronically and the results
posted on websites. Postal matches operate on the honor system,
therefore it is very important that all participants follow the rules for
each match exactly as stated.

AAPS will sponsor a new postal match each month or in some cases
every other month. Participants will earn points toward AAPS
classifications and the top scores submitted for each match will
receive medals. The website for each postal match (see below) will
contain specific instructions for the match and all scores that are
submitted will be posted on the respective website. A special
section of the Forum has been dedicated to postal match discussions.

General Rules
1.  Competitors must be 18 years of age or older.
2.  Competitors must be members of AAPS and registered on the AAPS Forum
(your AAPS membership number and Forum username are used for submitting scores).
3.  The honor system is in force for all AAPS postal matches. Play fair and avoid sanctions.
4.  All match instructions must be followed exactly as described. Dimensions presented in
stage descriptions can vary by +5% to accomodate individual space and equipment
     limitations.
5.  All AAPS safety rules must be followed.
6.  Competitors may submit multiple scores. Only the best score submitted by each competitor
will be posted. Scores may be submitted until midnight (EST) of the last day of the month.
7.  Competitors with both Standard and Open Division guns can submit scores for both
     Divisions.
8.  If there are more than five competitors in each Division (Standard, Open), then scores and
rankings will be posted by Division. Otherwise, scores will be combined into a single category
using the highest score submitted by each competitor, regardless of Division. Scores will
usually be posted within 48 hours of being submitted.
9. There are no age or gender categories for AAPS postal matches.
